About Daft Punk

Daft Punk is French House duo, made up of members Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. Their faces aren’t shown TV since 2001, as they take on robotic personas by wearing metalic, futuristic helmets. Accompanied by space like costumes and gloves. This also applies when they accepted their Grammy award for their latest release “Random Access Memories” in 2014.

Daft Punk is recognised for producing songs that are an essential element of the French House scene. The duo reached significant popularity around the late 1990’s which is when the House movement in France took off. Since then Daft Punk are one of the most respected group in electronic music to date. Some say they pioneered electronic music.

Daft Punk is best known for their songs such as “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”, “One More Time”, “Digital Love”. More recently their soundtrack for Disney’s Tron and their latest award-winning Grammy release, “Random Access Memories”, starring Pharrell Williams. Most people will recognise this release by the song “Get Lucky”.
